  • Bones

    Slang for dice.

  • Snake Eyes

    Craps

    A roll of 2, i.e. 1 on each die. So-called because the single pip on each die can be imagined to be an eye.

  • Pair of Aces in the Wrong Places

    Craps

    A roll of 2, also known as snake eyes.

  • Jimmy Hicks

    Craps

    Rhyming slang for the number 6.

  • Buy the 4 and 10

    Craps

    Placing a buy bet on the 4 and 10. In exchange for a 5% commission, the payout is 2 to 1, rather than 9 to 5.

  • Midnight

    Craps

    Slang for the number 12. Also called boxcars.

  • Field Bet

    Craps

    A one-roll sucker bet that the next number will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. Pays 1 to 1, except for 2 and 12, which pay more (usually double).

  • Crapping-out

    Craps

    Rolling craps (2, 3 or 12) on the come-out roll.

  • Point (The Point)

    The number that is rolled on the come-out roll, if it is a 4, 5, 6,8, 9 or 10. If the shooter rolls that number again, the pass line and odds bets are paid.

  • Double Odds Bet

    Craps

    An additional bet of twice the pass line or come bets. Casinos rarely, if ever, now offer double odds. They give higher odds, up to 100x, to their players' advantage.
