• Square Bet

  Roulette

  A bet on four numbers, which pays 8 to 1. Also called a corner bet, as the bet is placed on the corner where the numbers touch.

• Paroli

  Roulette

  A betting system in which the player increases their bet after a win, as opposed to the Martingale system, where a bet is increased after a loss.

• Low Bet

  A bet on the numbers 1-18.

• Voisins du Zero

  French term ("neighbors of the zero") for a bet of 9 chips on 17 numbers near the 0. Only allowed on the European version of roulette.

• Split Bet

  Roulette

  A bet on two numbers adjacent vertically or horizontally. Pays 17 to 1.

  Synonym: Cheval

• Black Bet

  Roulette

  A bet that the next number will be one of 18 black ones. There are also 18 red and one or two green numbers (0, 00).

  Roulette

  A bet on the numbers 1-18.

• Quatre

  Roulette

  French term for a bet on four numbers. Quatre premier: a bet on 1, 2, 3 and 4.

• American Roulette

  Casino GameRoulette

  One of two versions of roulette, which has the numbers 1-36, 0 and 00, as opposed to the European version, which has no 00. Adding the 00 doubles the house advantage.
