• Barefoot Bet

  Craps

  A pass line or come bet for which the player doesn't take odds (odds being the best bet in craps) or a don't pass or don't come where the player doesn't lay odds.

• Eighter from Decatur

  Craps

  Slang for a roll of 8.

• Nina from Pasadena

  Craps

  Slang for the number 9. Often shortened to Nina.

• Miss

  Craps

  Roll a seven after the point has been established, causing pass line bettors to lose.

• Don't Pass Bet

  Craps

  A bet on the don't pass line.

• Playing the Field

  Craps

  A bet that the next number will be 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12. A terrible wager for the player.

• Betting Right

  Craps

  Placing pass line and/or come bets, the usual way players bet. Often seen (erroneously) as playing "against" the house.

• Come Box

  Craps

  The marked area where players put their come bets.

  Synonym: Circle

• Outside Numbers

  Craps

  An expression for 4, 5, 9 and 10, as opposed to the inside numbers (5, 6, 8 and 9).

• Dept. of the Interior

  Craps

  A term for a player who places an inside bet, i.e. on the 5, 6, 8 or 9.
