Playtech has published its H1 performance report, and the numbers show that this software provider will perform even better than expected thanks to the impressive revenue growth in North and Latin Americas. Gambling is definitely on the rise in this part of the world, and Playtech is one of the leading companies that supplies casino solutions in the region. It also manages to guess the current consumer preferences and upcoming trends to hit the bar and be among the first choices of many casino players. Let’s take a closer look at the numbers stated in the H1 report.

Playtech claimed that its H1 revenue increased by 8% to €859.6m compared to the same period the previous year. Among that, the B2C field was slightly more successful with 9% growth, while B2B showed 7% growth.

CEO of Playtech, Mor Weizer, believes that this significant growth was triggered by the diversified portfolio that the company offers to its customers. This betting versatility option is especially successful in the Americas, the fast-growing gambling region. He also noted that Playtech is growing its presence across the United States with currently being available in 10 states and having signed an important agreement with Hard Rock Digital.

In Latin America, Playtech has also signed a couple of successful deals. Mor Weizer mentioned partnerships with Caliente in Mexico and Galera.bet in Brazil that helped the company cement its presence in those countries and significantly contributed to the revenue growth.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE REGIONS

The Americas showed the biggest growth in H1 2023. The revenue there increased by 43% compared to the previous year, and it was €99.7m. The most significant agreements that drove growth in this part of the world were of course Caliente in Mexico and 88, Rush Street Interactive, and PokerStars in the United States.

The revenue in Europe showed a decent growth in Europe too. It increased by 5% to €96.6m. Presence in Poland and Spain contributed to the revenue increase the most. However, the decrease in revenue in the Netherlands due to stricter gambling rules influenced the total percentage of revenue growth in Europe. The UK appeared to be another big market with a revenue decrease in H1 2023.

Those are the numbers for the B2B segment, but the B2C segment performed well as well across all regions. The growth in B2C was driven mainly by retail with 9% revenue growth and online business which increased by 12%.

RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING IN LATAM

The revenue growth in the Latin America region does not prevent Playtech from fulfilling its commitment to foster safe and responsible gambling. Thus, the company has surveyed 2,500 participants from different countries across the LATAM region. The findings were published in the Responsible Gambling: Consumer Insights and Trends in Latin America report, which can be found on Playtech’s website.

This report provides valuable insights into the state of responsible gambling in the region and the evaluation of safe gambling by players. Moreover, it outlines some current gambling trends in fast-growing Latin American markets and contains predictions for the future of gambling in the region.

Such thorough research of the Latin American markets in 2022 and valuable consumer insights might have been among the tools that helped Playtech meet the expectations of Latin American players and see a staggering revenue growth in H1 of 2023.
