Loose Deuces – Rare Variation of Wild Deuces

Loose Deuces is beneficial, but an extremely rare classification in Video Poker group, as it constitutes slightly over 1% of all games in our collection. This variation has a joker, which plays the role of the Wild card and substitutes for other cards in a hand. All Loose Deuces releases on this page are quite similar, the only striking difference is the size of payouts. Your maximum win can be either x300 or x3,000 credits, depending on the software provider.

Learn about Loose Deuces' Rules and Paytable

You should put a certain number on a stake to get five cards. Then, it is up to you to decide which of those cards to hold to create the highest possible winning combination. Draw those cards, which are not held and see the outcome of a hand. If it finishes with a winning combination, you can double your payout if you pick the card, that is stronger than dealer’s one.

The distinguishing feature is that Deuces are wild, and they can create bonus combinations, which you will not find in classic video poker. For example, you can collect Five of a Kind or Wild Royal. The full paytable is the following (starting with the strongest hand):

  • Royal Flush;

  • Four Deuces;

  • Wild Royal w/2s;

  • Five of a Kind;

  • Straight Flush;

  • Four of a Kind;

  • Full House;

  • Flush;

  • Straight;

  • Three of a Kind.

As you can see, there are no payouts for Two Pairs and Jacks or Better.

All You Need to Know About the Strategy

Unlike other Wild Deuces variations, here the strategy is simple, and it does not require long charts for successful play. All you need is to remember several tips and apply them to all your hands. First, you should always keep Deuces, unless you have Royal Flush or Wild Royal Flush. Some other playing tips are:

  • Never hold high cards, no matter how many of them you have; it is better to discard the entire hand;

  • If you have four cards to Royal Flush and two Deuces, choose Deuces to hold;

  • You should not hold three cards to royal flush;

  • It is better to hold a pair than four cards to flush or straight if you have no deuces;

  • If you have straight/flush and two Deuces, keep Deuces;

  • Even if you have two pairs, hold just one;

  • The last and the most important tip: if you have Three Deuces, always keep them. Even if you have Wild Royal Flush, Five of a Kind etc., hold Three Deuces.

  • The only combination, which you should prefer to Deuces is a Natural Royal Flush.

Our Take on Loose Deuces

This classification is quite similar to other video poker types with Wild cards, but it is far more enjoyable to play. The rules and strategy are simple, and payouts are quite high. There is one more simple video poker category, called Deuces Wild. The only difference between this one and Loose Deuces is the list of winning combinations.
