As Dutch Gaming Authority introduces new strict rules for online gambling, the iGaming industry in the country will change significantly. The example of such changes is the closure of Klavecasino, which does not accept players any longer.

Details on New Rules for iGaming in the Netherlands

Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has come forth with new rules for the regulation of online gambling in the Netherlands, as a part of a campaign that is devoted to preventing minor’s involvement in online gambling. According to the guidelines, created by KSA, the operator is considered to be illegal if it has at least one of the following:

 

  • Games of chance with the .com extension;

  • Games of chance, available in Dutch language;

  • Gambling offers advertised by any type of mass media;

  • Domains that contain typical Netherlands referring to concepts combined with any gaming indications (for instance “lump bingo”, “fun poker” or “red-white-blue-casinos”);

  • Other features that focus on the Netherlands (e.g. pictures of windmills and clogs);

  • Payment methods even partially used by Dutch;

  • No variants of geoblocking and more.
