The decision to implement the regulated gambling market in Sweden was well-accepted by operators and software providers across Europe. An array of them have already submitted applications to be certified and provide services in the country. As the regulated market is to be open on the 1st of January 2019, the Gambling Authority in this jurisdiction started to approve requests and issue licenses. Two major operator networks are already eligible to deliver gaming services to Swedish players.

Kindred Group Approved

Kindred Group (former Unibet) has certified on the 30th of November 2018. The company that owns such popular brands as Unibet and iGame, prepares to launch five websites in Sweden and has signed a sponsorship deal with the Swedish Elite Football Association.

“The license in Sweden will give us new opportunities to provide our customers with an even better and more relevant gambling experience through new partnerships and offerings. It will also allow us to develop our involvement in Swedish society by engaging in local activities and projects, such as the sponsorship of Allsvenskan and Superettan”,  comments Dersim Sylwan, General Manager Sweden at Kindred Group.

LeoVegas Secures the License

LeoVegas Group is also among the first to reach this milestone. The opportunity to enter the regulated Swedish market meets the company’s strategy of expansion of their services to local communities. The network expects the soar of the revenue to 60%.

“In recent years we have invested substantially in responsible gaming and LeoSafePlay, an area that will continue to make up a fundamental part of our operations. Being among the first operators to receive a gambling license is a quality seal and affirms LeoVegas as a leading, long-term and serious actor in the industry,”  says Gustaf Hagman, LeoVegas’ Group CEO.
