Microgaming is probably the first name the gaming industry is associated with. This award-winning and record-breaking studio was launched in 1994, contributing to the world of gambling ever since. Microgaming operates the Quickfire platform, boasts a legendary Mega Moolah progressive slot that is registered in the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® for the largest online slot payout.

And the company does not stop impressing its fans.

Microgaming recently started a new project to diversify and refresh its portfolio. What is the best way to do this? Get new independent studios with a modern perspective and innovative ideas involved.

The project was successfully launched in 2018. Since that time, Microgaming constantly announces cooperation with new studios and expands its library with unique titles.

Currently, there are 10 innovative software developers on the list:

  • Triple Edge Studios
  • Stormcraft Studios
  • SlingShots Studios
  • Fortune Factory
  • Switch Studios
  • All41Studios
  • Pulse 8 Studios
  • Gameburger Studios
  • Neon Valley Studios
  • Alchemy Gaming

TRIPLE EDGE STUDIOS

Everything began with Triple Edge Studios, as Microgaming announced their cooperation at ICE 2018. In March 2018, their debut game Playboy Gold was revealed.

That is how Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever commented the launch of the project and their collaboration with Triple Edge Studios: “As the frontrunners in the industry our focus is always on what we can do next and exclusive content from independent global studios will play a huge part in delivering Microgaming’s growth strategy this year. Triple Edge Studios are the first in a number of game studios to be announced as exclusive providers to Microgaming. It is an ambitious strategy but one we feel will cement Microgaming’s place as the market’s must-have provider of gaming content.”

Launched in 2017, TES defines its three main drivers: exceeding expectations, innovation at its finest, and products with dynamic mechanics and follow them in their releases.

The portfolio of this studio currently consists of five titles, including new adventures of a brave treasure hunter in Lara Croft: Temples and Tombs and Book of Oz: Lock ‘N Spin that introduces innovative Hyperspins.

STORMCRAFT STUDIOS

The cooperation with this young independent software developer was also announced at ICE 2018, as the unique Fortunium slot was showcased.

This machine brought the popular theme of steampunk into Microgaming’s portfolio. The studio has also developed a range of games with start titles, including Agent Jane Blonde Returns and Jungle Jim and The Lost Sphinx.

Stormcraft Studios emerged in 2016 in South Africa. Created by a team of the industry veterans, the studio uses its former experiences to combine it with new technology and modern approach to gaming in order to fully meet customers’ expectations.

FORTUNE FACTORY STUDIOS

Soon after the release of Cash of Kingdoms, Microgaming welcomed a new independent developer to its family. That was Fortune Factory Studios that has developed Holly Jolly Penguins, Showdown Saloon, Romanov Riches.

According to Microgaming CEO John Coleman:“Our studios model was established to bring greater diversity and innovation to the market. The talented team at Fortune Factory has years of land-based and traditional video gaming experience behind them, ensuring they are in a strong position to deliver exciting game features and mechanics exclusively for Microgaming customers. With the launch of Romanov Riches in October 2018, Fortune Factory join Slingshot, Stormcraft, and Triple Edge in diversifying our range with new premium content.”

What is more, this company had also contributed to the list of branded slots by Microgaming, as it was the one to bring to life Village People, inspired by the famous band.

SWITCH STUDIOS

At the end of 2018, Microgaming decided to switch the focus from slot machines and launch a suite of table games. That is when the company announced its partnership with Switch Studios to bring innovation to the industry of live casino entertainment that remained conservative all that time.

That is how Switch Studios explained their interest of table games in an interview with Key2Casinos: “Whilst the technology from the device and platform side had moved on greatly, we noticed there had been no real advancements in terms of innovation from a gameplay perspective and we wanted to get ahead of this and shake up the vertical”

Thus, the team behind Switch Studios has put its skills, experience, and eagerness to revolutionize this traditional field of gaming to come up with a line of exclusive table games, including Roulette Switch StudiosAmerican Roulette, and Blackjack.

ALL41STUDIOS

In the middle of 2019, All41Studios became the sixth software developer to join Microgaming’s independent studios. Its debut release Le Kaffe Bar was launched in June, inviting players to relax and enjoy a cup of tasty coffee on 243 way wins.

All41Studios is a young software provider from Estonia with the headquarters in Tallinn. It has already delivered four games to Microgaming’s portfolio, including the latest Book of Atem and Lock – A – Luck releases.

Julia Saburova, Head of All41 Studios, comments their cooperation with this industry giant in the following way: “We are very excited to be working with Microgaming and look forward to providing the supplier with new and innovative content for their extensive portfolio of operators. Our mission is to entertain, innovate, and deliver the very best gaming experiences. Whether it comes down to game mechanics, graphics, or sound, we are determined and driven to craft only the very best of the best.”

PULSE 8 STUDIOS

Pulse 8 started to collaborate with Microgaming in August 2019. According to the information on the studio’s website, the team’s work is “inspired by the dragon’s pulse” and their first (and yet single) slot machine Relic Seekers develops this motif even further.

The game was released in August, offering players a chance to find the hidden Dragon’s Vein relic and enjoy innovative Rolling Reels.

We are intrigued and anticipate new games from this studio. What about you?

GAMEBURGER STUDIOS

Pulse 8 was not the only studio that penned a deal with Microgaming in August. Gameburger Studios also joined the club that summer.

This software developer focuses on the creation of the innovative content with classic US feel, combining all we love in video slots: stunning visuals, atmosphere, and plenty of special features.

Although Gameburger has been delivering slot machines to Microgaming’s portfolio for less than a year, it has already released three exciting titles, namely Break Da Bank: Again Respin9 Masks of Fire, and 9 Pots of Gold.

NEON VALLEY STUDIOS

This studio is one of the newbies among independent studios that contribute to the Microgaming portfolio. It joined the project in September and with the Aurora Wilds slot that represents an animals theme from an unexpected perspective, adding some neon glow to it.

Furthermore, it has recently presented a new Atlantean Treasures game that incorporates the legendary Mega Moolah progressive jackpot.

ALCHEMY GAMING

You have probably heard about the Wheel of Wishes slot. This release was developed by Alchemy Gaming, the latest independent studio on the list of Microgaming partners.

That is how Rory Harpur, Head of Alchemy Gaming, described their commitment in the press release“With a wealth of collective experience in the industry, we understand slots and players, and what drives excitement and anticipation in games. We love how great games balance mechanics and art to perfection. Our mission is to focus on creating a polished audiovisual experience that fully supports our game features. We are all looking forward to launching our debut game Wheel of Wishes with Microgaming.”

AND THERE IS MORE…

In addition to the abovementioned studios, Microgaming has a range of partnerships with numerous leading software providers. Thus, Just For The Win provides slot machines to Microgaming operators on a regular basis. Multiple games are delivered by FoxiumCrazy Tooth StudiosRabcat. Some titles provided by this company were developed by Electric Elephant Studios and Plank Gaming.
