  • Flop

    Poker

    In games where there are five community cards, the first three are dealt out and exposed together; this is called the flop.

  • Viking Poker

  • Make a Hand

    Poker

    Receive a card or cards which makes the player's hand stronger than no pair. E.g. Have four cards of the same suit and get a fifth one to complete a flush.

  • Pat Hand

    1) In draw poker, a strong hand which doesn't need any more cards;

    2) In blackjack, a hand where the player should take no more cards (hard 17 or higher).

  • Straight

    Five cards which are in sequence by rank and not all of the same suit. E.g, 76543.

  • Flush

    A hand where all the cards are of the same suit.

  • Straight Draw

    Poker

    The situation where a player tries to complete a straight, either with a gap between their cards (inside, e.g. 6532) or not (open-ended, e.g. KQJ10).

  • Fill up

    Complete a full house.

  • Monster

    Poker

    A very strong hand, though not guaranteed to win.
