The game aggregator proves its use not only as a convenient place to gather casino games and distribute them more effectively, but it is also a useful source of information that allows us to see the gaming patterns and understand what the current gambling trends are across the regions. One such valuable source of information is the Game Aggregator by SOFTSWISS. Let’s take a closer look at the H2 of 2022 and H1 of 2023 data from this Game Aggregator platform to explore the most popular games and software providers across different regions.

EUROPE

Slot games remain the most exciting casino entertainment among European players. We see a slight decrease in popularity in H2 2022, and this trend continued in H1 2023. Nonetheless, it still takes 81% of the market share in Europe. Those figures let us see a clear preference of casino players on this continent.

Slots are followed by card games, and its market share is almost 11%. They also show a clear tendency to grow in popularity, so we can expect an increase in the market share in the near future.

Roulette is in third place by market share (slightly over 5%). Other types of casino entertainment (like craps and lotteries) do not exceed 1%, and they do not show clear signs of future increases.

As for the most played games by European players, those are all slots. If you are curious about the exact names, those were Gates of Olympus, Big Bamboo, and Midas Golden Touch. It is difficult to track the preferences of themes and mechanics, as they change vastly from quarter to quarter.

Nonetheless, it is easy to track the stability in the list of most popular software developers. Those are AmaticAmusnet (EGT)BGaming, Evolution, Pragmatic PlayPush Gaming, and Relax Gaming. All that changes on the timeline are their places in the rankings.

LATIN AMERICA

The market share for different casino genres in Latin America differs significantly from the one in Europe. Thus, the preferences of Latin American players are less slots-centered, as a significant percentage of players are interested in Roulette (almost 22%). Therefore, we are not surprised to see Roleta Brasileiri being the most popular game in H2 2022 - H1 2023. Card games are just slightly more popular than in Europe, but the market share of the lotteries is much higher than on the old continent.

As for the lot machines, they remain the most popular casino genre for many years. In the analyzed period, its market share comprised 59%. Games of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza are in the top 5 of the most popular games in LATAM.

The rise in popularity of crash games is probably the biggest surprise for this part of the world. A bright example of this increased interest in this up-and-coming genre is that Spribe, one of the well-known crash game developers, has been in 10th place in H2 2022, and it was ranked the fourth most popular studio in H1 2023. Moreover, one of its iconic games, Aviator, is the second most popular game for this period.

An interesting fact about Latin American players is that they are quite consistent in their choices. About 25% of all bets made by LATAM players were made on top five games for H2 2022 - H1 2023

ASIA

Even though Asia is a completely different market from Europe or LATAM in terms of gambling and brands represented there, the preferences of players are not much different from those two regions. The market share in Asia resembles Europe.

Slots also prevail here, and their market share is 81%. Games of Olympus and Bonanza Billions online slots take the leading places among the most popular games within the analyzed period. Same as in LATAM, we see an increased interest in crash games in general, and Aviator by Spribe in particular. Bets on this game doubled in H1 2023 compared to H2 2022.

As for the most popular software developers, those were Evolution, Pragmatic Play, BGaming, Amatic, Amusnet, and Play’n GO which took top positions in H2 2022 – H1 2023. However, their places in the ranking changed depending on the quarter.

As for other popular casino genres, those were roulette and card games with market shares of 9% and 7% respectively. Other genres were in the diapason of 1% on the market share diagram.
